Executive Relationship Consultant
Larry Haynes is a retired partner at Ernst & Young where he served as a tax consultant to high-growth private and public companies for over 30 years. During his tenure, he led several Ernst & Young regional practices, including entrepreneurial services, emerging and growth markets, business development, and strategic growth markets. At the time of his retirement, he also served as the Americas director of the Entrepreneur-of-the-Year awards. Following retirement from Ernst & Young in June 2010, Mr. Haynes accepted a position as Executive Relationship Consultant at Smith, & Partners. He also is active in many civic organizations, including service on the Board and Audit Committee of the Baylor Oral Health Foundation and as a director of the Texas Methodist Foundation.
After graduating with honors from Southwestern in 1972 with a BBA in Accounting and Economics, Larry attended the U. S. Army's Officers Candidate School. There he was commissioned as an officer and stationed in Europe where he served as the Chief of Economic and Systems Analysis for the Army's European Signal Command. He earned an MBA with honors in Accounting and a concentration in Taxation from The University of Texas at Austin in 1978. In 2003, he was named a distinguished alumnus of Southwestern University.
