Duck and Cover
If you're a Baby Boomer, "duck and cover" was supposed to protect you from a nuclear holocaust. It was ridiculous, but as kids in the throes of the Cuban Missile Crisis, it gave us a sense of security. Fortunately, we weren't aware of how near we were to the doomsday scenario or that a desk was not going to protect us from lethal doses of radiation.
From a financial preparedness point of view, many Baby Boomers are in that same boat. With all the tools available and time still on their side, the question remains, "Why are you still in 'duck and cover' mode?" Too busy, too tired, too overwhelmed?
Give this consideration. There are 8,760 hours in a typical year. It will take 8 hours to get out of "duck and cover" and bring order and direction to your financial life. Isn't it time to be proactive rather than reactive?
